Nicolai Cheetah QRZ Quartzite Bridge Saw Blade

The Nicolai Cheetah is a premium bridge saw blade developed specifically for cutting extremely hard and dense quartzite. Built for difficult materials such as Taj Mahal, it combines an aggressive quartzite-specific bond with patterned diamond placement and a twin-segment design to keep the blade cutting freely in material that can quickly glaze or slow down a standard stone blade.

The Cheetah's proprietary metal bond is designed to expose fresh diamond as the blade wears, reducing the amount of dressing normally required when cutting dense quartzite. Nicolai's pattern and layering technology maintains a consistent distribution of diamond throughout the segment, helping deliver predictable cutting performance over the life of the blade.

Each segment uses a split or twin-segment design that creates additional space for water and slurry evacuation. This helps cool the blade, clear debris from the cut, and reduce resistance as the blade moves through hard material.

The Cheetah also uses a silent European steel core for added rigidity and reduced operating noise. The reinforced core helps control blade movement and deflection during both straight and miter cuts, an important advantage when processing expensive quartzite slabs.

With extra-tall 25 mm diamond segments, the Cheetah is built for production shops that want strong blade life along with reliable quartzite performance. Although quartzite is its primary application, the blade can also be used on granite and engineered quartz, giving fabrication shops additional versatility without immediately changing blades.

Getting the Best Performance from the Cheetah

Quartzite varies considerably from slab to slab, so feed rate should be adjusted to the material rather than treated as a fixed number. Start within Nicolai's recommended operating range and allow the blade to cut without forcing excessive feed pressure.

Use plenty of clean water on both sides of the blade. Proper water flow keeps the segments cool, clears stone slurry from the cutting path, and helps the quartzite-specific bond expose fresh diamond.

If the blade begins to slow down, check water flow, RPM, and feed rate before assuming the blade needs dressing. One of the advantages of the Cheetah's bond and segment design is that it is intended to require less frequent dressing than many conventional blades when cutting hard quartzite.
