The Silencer III Hard Granite combines a bond made specifically for difficult granite with one of Alpha's best features: the laminated silent core. You get a blade built to stay productive in hard granite while noticeably reducing the high-pitched cutting noise associated with a traditional solid steel bridge saw blade.

Best Use:

Best for fabrication shops regularly cutting hard and dense granite, especially longer production runs where a general-purpose granite blade may begin to slow down or glaze. Alpha specifically recommends the Hard Granite version for difficult materials such as Iron Red granite.

Pro Tip:

Hard granite should dictate the cutting speed, not the other way around. Use plenty of continuous water and reduce your traverse speed as the material gets harder or thicker. If an especially difficult granite begins to glaze the blade, Alpha recommends dressing it with an abrasive material before continuing. Very difficult materials may also benefit from step cutting.

When We Wouldn't Choose It:

We would not choose this version as an all-purpose blade for engineered quartz, marble, porcelain, Dekton, or regular quartzite production. Alpha makes dedicated Silencer III bonds for those materials, and those versions will provide better cutting performance and blade life. For quartzite in particular, use the Silencer III Quartzite blade when that is the primary material being cut.
